400 Unique Cookie Cutters

by Tim

Cookie create has a lot of cookie cutters. Recently I've been putting it into a (https://www.nocodb.com/)[NoCoDB]. Enough information on each SKU that I should be able to easily export/transform it to be uploaded into any other internet catalog. Upload on Etsy, Woocommerce, anything really. It's (hopefully) worth the time.

But what a huge amount of time. I didn't realize just how many items cookiecreate has. And then, then it gets doubled for their digital twins. Quite a few hours of work, and I didn't realize this when I started.

The why.

I'm moving to Woocommerce for cookiecreate.com, which means that I have to upload all the products. I could either do it all manually, or build out a separate db and import it all in. Since I already have to upload everything, I may as well have a local, flexible, copy that can be used in any other place.

The how.

I love Airtable. It makes things easy to manage, looks pretty, and non-technical users can use it. But, it's not hosted on my stuff, and who knows how long Airtable is going to be around. They've already had layoffs. Nocodb is locally hosted, and thus it'll always be there for me. No limits, available anywhere, love it.

Conclusion

Lots of work, I'm probably at 10 hours of working so far, with ~8 remaining. But I'll be more nimble for it.
