Human travel speeds

by Tim

Random quick thought, but in the book Where is my flying car the author mentions how average travel speed has plateaued out. And also mentions the benefits of personal travel. But how much faster can an unaided person really travel? I don't expect or want someone driving more than 75, they can barely do that. I don't want the average person flying. Personal aircraft are already the most dangerous form of flying, and that's with a self selected and motivated group of people who want to take the time and money to be properly trained.

Human travel speeds are going to remain at a standstill until more automated travel is available.
