Stop using money.

Or, at least the word. I see a lot of hatred for money in some of the anticapitalist circles I watch. Claims of "everything being about money", or "companies would rather see you die if you can't pay them", or varients like so.

And, I can't say I really disagree with those notions, it also masks the problems that they're are trying to solve.

Money is a pretty abstract thing, and using that word can impart a bit of negative meaning due to the implications.

Maybe try using the word resources instead.

I spent a lot of my money fixing my house.

VS.

I spent a lot of resources fixing my house.

It has a broader meaning to it. You didn't just write a check and you were done. You spent time and energy doing those things. I think it captures the broader meaning of doing things, rather than just a number with a $ in front of it.
