Blender Sprites, methods and approaches.

Automatic conversion of VRM files to 2D sprites.

What a can of worms. There seem to be several issues with allowing automatic sheet generation.

Issue One

VRM files that come directly out of VRoid Studio don't have any animations. Thus we need some sort of animations to apply to a given VRM file.

Issue Two

Lack of available animations. As we're using Blender, we'd like some sort of animations to be imported in, and it doesn't seem to be an easy way to do that. Lots of animations are made for each model like so. This presents an obvious issue.

One common alternative I've seen is using Mixamo Great on the surface, but it's proprietary and online. We're looking for a standalone solution. Once you have the Dockerimage, you're set forever.

It feels like we can import mocap files and retarget it to an animations. Something similar to the workflow shown here
